NOTE: It is recommended that you confirm that the latest firmware is installed on your device by visiting the Brook PS4 Device Support page, downloading the firmware update app, and following instructions in the manual. Links to Brook device firmware update information and instructions are available in the Support tab.
The Brook Super Converter is a USB-based adapter designed to convert your Playstation 3 peripheral for use in the Sony Playstation 4 or PC. It does this without requiring authorization from an original gamepad. This unprecedented advancement makes the Brook Super Converter the most portable adapter on the market today.
The Brooks Super Converter has several convenient features to improve the control experience.
In addition, the Brook Super Converter is firmware upgradeable, which can be used to improve functionality, and add new features. Firmware updates are performed by attaching your device to a Windows PC, or Mac with Boot Camp partition or Parallels Virtual PC software.
As of now, the Brook Super Converter is allowed by EVO, one of the most popular global tournament events. Often EVO's policies are adopted at smaller tournaments. This policy is a tentative acceptance - should the converter become disabled via Sony firmware update before EVO, it could face a ban. You can learn more about it here (Opens in new window).
Now, via latest device firmware update, you can use the PS3/PC Zero Delay USB Encoder PCB: Japan Style Controls or PS3/PC Zero Delay USB Encoder PCB: American Style Controls with this device to play on the Sony PS4 or PS4 Pro! Both products are economically priced, and allow for incredible versatility for budget-minded joystick builders or those who already have either device on hand.
Please note that you will need to update the Brook PS3 to PS4 Super Converter to the latest firmware before attempting to connect the Zero Delay PCBA onto the converter. To learn about PS4 button mappings, please visit the Zero Delay PCB product page and click on the "Support" tab.
The Brook Super Converter comes in its own professionally designed box. In the box is the device; paper instructions are also included in English and Taiwanese. You can also download the instructions as a PDF from the Support tab.

ImportantMany are reporting that their Converters aren't working properly after performing a firmware update, but actually forgot to properly exit the firmware update process. After performing firmware updates, you MUST remember to exit updating on PS4 Converters by entering the combo keys (three steps) again to exit updating mode.

Tested with the PS3 Hitbox (https://www.hitboxarcade.com/), which is my favorite controller for fighting games like Tekken, Soul Calibur, VF, etc. Hitbox is coming out with a PS4 version soon, but until then, this adapter works perfectly.
Note: it's about 2" long, which adds that much length to whatever USB plug you're using. So if people regularly have to step over your cables, you might wanna unplug it when not in use. Will R on Sep 6th 2018
Outside of the fast delivery, once I updated the firmware it works more or less with no problems. Bought this for myself to be able to play Dragonball fighterZ and other fighting games on my ps4 as I have only a ps3 fightstick and I have to say it worked far better than I expected. Well worth the purchase overall. Unknown on Jul 2nd 2018
My wife uses it for local tournaments and loves it! Unknown on Jun 20th 2018
Works great as a plug and play converter. I don't feel any perceptible input lag from the controller. A great product if you just have a PS3 stick. Unknown on Jun 9th 2018
I bought this to use my Driving Force GT on the PS4 for Gran Turismo Sport.
It works like a charm, plug and play.
Force feedback also works.
For GT sport, the game thinks you are using a controller, you just have to reconfigure the buttons for shifting, you can even configure force feedback torque and sensitivity.
A good altenative for people who dont want to dish out $$$ for a new wheel.

This converter just works. Right out of the box I was able to use my Qanba Q1 PS3 stick on my PS4 without needing to install any drivers. There is also very little noticeable input lag from the converter, which is a great plus for me. I highly recommend this product if you can get it. Unknown on Dec 26th 2016
I came in the PS4 scene quite late and didn't find out until recently that my TE Round 2 sticks don't work on SFV's legacy support. Brook's adapter made it happen. I've been reading a lot of great things about their adapters and I guess all of them were right. I updated them as soon as they arrived and they worked off the bat. Thanks FA for helping bring products like these readily available. Unknown on Sep 14th 2016
To start, I think this product is fine, but it didn't work for me. It really will up-convert approved PS3 products to work on PS4. However, if you are like me and were hoping for a cheap conversion for Toodles' MC Cthulhu board, you might be out of luck.
This coverter will work with the Cthulhu, but only with a very specific firmware version of that board (ver. 1.4 to be exact): Too old or too new, and you are out of luck.
Yury and J. Beck of Focus Attack were very helpful to me; Yury by going out of his way to help try to find the right firmware, and Mr. Beck for offering a full refund/return shipping when we couldn't make the converter work with my setup.
Focus Attack really does have excellent customer service.
So, I'm disappointed my sticks still don't work with my new PS4, but if nothing else, I can recommend that anyone who buys this up-converts there Dualshock 3s to work on PS4 as Dualshock 4s are pretty expensive. Unknown on Jul 13th 2016
Very easy to set up the drivers and get it to work on your PS4. I have the SF x T V.S. edition Madcatz stick for PS3, and I didn't want to buy a new stick just to compete at Evo.
All I had to do was plug in the device into my desktop, download the drivers, and follow the instructions provided in the PDF that came with the drivers. After that, when plugging it into the PS4, it was just plug and play. No "8 second delay" of any kind.
Focus Attack delivered my Brook converter in a timely manner just in time for Evo. You won't be disappointed. Unknown on Jul 1st 2016
I received this product on time and it works as expected. However, there are issues with the firmware that stops the converter from working after 8 minutes. I searched around for solutions and found out that the Brook website provides driver updates. When I downloaded the driver updates for my converter, they did not include the actual driver files!
I would hold off on purchasing this product until Brook makes their updated drivers available on their website Joe G on Apr 15th 2016
