NOTE: It is recommended that you confirm that the latest firmware is installed on your device by visiting the Brook Device Support page, downloading the firmware update app, and following instructions in the manual. The classics never die. Brook - makers of the popular Super Converter family - offers Playstation 2 players a love letter for the original console. The Brook Super Converter is a USB-based adapter designed to convert your Playstation 4 or PS3 peripheral for use in the original FAT or Slim Playstation 2 console, plus original Playstation 1 or PSOne console.
The included USB A port on the PS3/PS4 to PS2 Super Converter's main body will accept most wired gamepads and arcade sticks. For those who prefer wireless control - something not as common to PS2 owners at the time - you can connect your modern controller to the Super Converter via Bluetooth. See instructions in "Support" tab to initiate a wireless connection.
There were hundreds of titles on Playstation 2 that utilized vibration for special effects during gameplay. You can have the same experience on any supported PS3/PS4 gamepads thanks to the Super Converter's vibration support.
For those who often play on PC, the PS3/PS4 to PS2 Super Converter features a mini USB output. You can connect a mini USB cable to your computer and utilize the converter's Xinput support to control modern titles. Additionally the PC connection is used to upgrade firmware when necessary.
The Brooks Super Converter has several convenient features to improve the control experience.
In addition, the Brook Super Converter is firmware upgradeable, which can be used to improve functionality, and add new features. Firmware updates are performed by attaching your device to a Windows PC, or Mac with Boot Camp partition or Parallels Virtual PC software.
The Brook Super Converter comes in its own professionally designed box. In the box is the device; paper instructions are also included in English and Taiwanese. You can also download the instructions as a PDF from the Support tab.

Sorry, it took me so long to actually buy this product. Had no idea that I need it in my life, thank you FA and Brook. Easy to use and so much fun when connected to the system (PS2). Omar Moreno on Nov 23rd 2020
I just bought it and well... It worked.
I had to update firmware couple of times , had some issues , but in the end understood that the problem was that I was not connecting properly the brook to the PS2 , hahaha... That being said. It is needed a bit of a push to it people. Connect it strongly haha... But , it's a wonderful product. Really amazing. Thanks . The best. And it's amazing that it works for the PS1 too. ( I didn't tried yet tho, but I have a friend that probably would love. Cause he has a PS1 , problem is , he never played with a PS4 controller yet... So he doesn't know how good it is haha. How better it feels to play with... So he probably would still play PS1 as he does , with his PS2 controller... But yeah. It's amazing )
Thanks. José Hermes Da Silva Monteiro on Oct 18th 2019
This thing works like a dream. I have tried to find a good wireless controller to use for my ps2 and I'm sad I wasted my time looking elsewhere. This thing is responsive, easy to connect, and has been a dream to use. Mychael on Sep 27th 2019
For real, I'm so glad I have this thing. Dualshock 2s are showing their age. Many of mine have been failing. This adapter worked straight out of the box and has shown no issues. The Dualshock 3 is the best PS2 controller. If these come back in stock pick one up, you wont regret it. Lucille on Jul 15th 2019
Bought this to test third strike lag testing. This didn't work with my PS3 Hori SCV, but luckily I also have a PS4 HRAP 4. I didn't know this at first and thought it had a problem.
Once I plugged in my HRAP4, it worked immediately. No issues, no complaints. Solid product. Brook products have always been great! They are not a crapy third party whatsoever. Thanks for selling their products, Focusattack! epilis on Jun 22nd 2018
Following the release of the Street Fighter 30th Collection, I've been itching to play on the classic consoles. With my converter, I've been able to connect my custom modded sticks to both consoles and it feels so much better than playing on pad.
Out of the box, no firmware update needed. Just plug it in and play. I've been playing tons of Street Fighter Alpha 2 on PS1 as well as Espgaluda on PS2. This converter makes playing shmups feel so much better. Definitely will be buying a second one soon. Mike on Jun 12th 2018
This thing is fantastic and simple to use. Plug into PS2, plug USB PS3 controller in, turn on PS2 and it just works. Very impressive and solid build.
I have not tried wireless controllers or PS4, as I only use it for PS3 sticks on my PS2. Other reviews will detail the above has worked for them.
One thing to mention, this DOES NOT work with the "PS3/PC Zero Delay USB Encoder PCB" sold here.
No stars marked down for this, as it says PS3/PS4 not 3rd Party Encoder.
If you want one of these that works with the Brook, you need a board that when plugged into the PC shows it as a PS3 Controller, NOT a Generic USB Gamepad. (The PS2/PS3/PC boards with the PS2 connector will work - The PS2 direct plug in is terrible on these, that is why you would use the USB cable from these to the converter) KidsHeart on Mar 11th 2018
I bought this device with my Hori Rap4 in mind. Right out of the box it works, plug and play with no firmware updates. I tested my RAP4, a DS3 and DS4 and all of them work. I didn't notice any lag in the process. This brook converter will be the third product I own from this company and all I can say is they haven't failed me yet. D Finona on Feb 21st 2018
This device just works right out of the box. I plugged it in and tried both a DS3 and DS4 on my PS2 slim. It feels so cool to be playing Burnout Revenge and Soul Calibur III with a PS4 controller. It really is awesome. Marc on Jan 31st 2018
My new converter has been letting me use my Madcatz TES+ arcade stick (USB PS3/PS4 model) to play old fighting game favorites on my PS2. The converter has worked fine since the first attempt and has given me no performance issues whatsoever. I'm very happy with the product. Now I can just use one stick for my entire PlayStation family collection. Looking forward to trying it on my PS1 next! Josh B. on Jul 17th 2017
