Sanwa is an undisputed leader in the Japanese arcade market, but that doesn't mean the company isn't inspired by community-born modifications to their celebrated joystick levers. Today, the company asks you to do just that - mod to your heart's content - with a selection of color-coded performance enhancers.
Each kit includes the following items (Note that Sanwa JLF lever is not included with kit):
- 4 types of springs
- 4 types of actuators
- Guide plate + 4 types of guide tips
- 5 pcs e-rings
Which Sanwa Joystick is Compatible?
The JL-C-ALL kit will fit the following models
Spring, Actuator and Guide Tip Mods
Each spring modification is designed to adjust tension load in two areas: the beginning of the lever tilt, and end of the tilt. Notice that all but the red spring increases tension up as you finish movement towards the cardinal direction.
Included in the kit are four actuators. You will find the original JLF actuator, which has a 15.8mm diameter. Following this are actuators of increasing diameter. Use this to experiment with your preferred engagement sensitivity.
Guide Tips are inserts for the Sanwa GT-8F 4/8-Way Restrictor Plate that comes with your JLF. Each guide is color-coded and designed to provide a unique enhancement to lever travel, from the tried-and-true octagonal control of the yellow GTN-Y to the hybrid rounded square of the GTN-B.
TPRG Silent Joystick
For those who would like to replace their original guide on the Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8BYT-SK Higher Tension Silent Microswitch Joystick, the contact of the lead switch may shift due to the impact when the guide plate is attached, and it may not operate normally. You may want to avoid the guide tips part of the mod for that model.
Sanwa JLF Clones
The JL-C-ALL kit was designed for authentic Sanwa JLF models. We're unable to speak for all Sanwa JLF clones on the market, or "knock-off" models that are pre-built into lower-cost Fightsticks, nor cheaper Zippy models.
