  • Product Description

Those looking for further ways to accessorize your fightstick, opting to match colors across buttons and joystick lever, didn't have many options when it came to the joystick shaft.

    Until now.

The Sanwa JLF Aluminum Extended Joystick shaft comes in several anodized colors, and adds 15mm (.59") length over the stock 68mm shaft (from base to threading).  This shaft was designed to assist installing your Sanwa JLF joystick lever into a maximum 3/4" (18mm) MDF wooden control panel.  It is compatible with joysticks from the Sanwa JLF series, including TP-8YT, TP-8YT-SK, TPRG-AYT-SK, and TPRG-8BYT-SK.

Compatibility with Sanwa and Seimitsu Accessories

The aluminum shaft matches the threading found in the stock JLF shaft. This means that nearly all balltop and battop accessories that currently fit the standard JLF series shaft are compatible. Exceptions include all Sanwa JLF-CD Shaft & Dustwasher Set models, since the shaft is longer than the standard model, and the dustwasher conforms to the shaft.  Instead, please consider Solo Sanwa JLF Dustwasher - Fits Sanwa JLF without Shaft Cover (Set of 2) when purchasing this shaft.

    Works with Hori Hayabusa Lever

The Hori Hayabusa Joystick has remained popular partly due to its interchangeability with Sanwa JLF compatible components such as springs and actuator.  Of them, you can also install this shaft.  Our support contact Joey Wainwright shows you how to install the shaft in this articlenew-window-icon.png

    Incredibly Lightweight

An advantage to aluminum is its low weight. With an equally lightweight balltop, you may find that an existing Sanwa or Seimitsu spring allows for proper return to center without bounceback.

    1. Great height but awful weight

I could never feel fully comfortable with the standard JLF shaft, my hand always felt cramped. So I was happy when I saw there was an alternative. The height of this shaft was perfect. It is also very well manufactured and polished.
But there is a major drawback for me. Low weight of this shaft felt weird and caused the lever to return to neutral significantly slower, so I wouldn`t call being light weight an advantage. I`d advise using a heavier spring with this shaft for a better experience.
