The Seimitsu LS-32 and LS-38 series lever now has a detachable shaft!

    Height Adjustable

The NT Replacement Shaft has a unique construction that unscrews the shaft from its base, plus add or decrease its shaft height using 2mm or 3mm screw nuts. The NT comes with two 3mm screw nuts by default. You can add another 2mm or more using additional screw nuts, available separately.

    Installation Notes

The current LS-32 uses a snap ring to hold its shaft in place. Without a specific tool such as the Circlip Plier (Amazon) new-window-icon.png, removing this clamp is quite difficult.  An alternative method uses spare single wire from a cord and needle nose pliers.

Step 1: Wire Step 2: Shape into loop
First, find a strong, durable piece of solid metal wire that you can cut and shape into a loop. Pulling the snap ring will require a bit of effort, so wire from a twist tie may not have enough strength to accomodate. Next, cut and twist the wire into two horizontally elongated loops.
Step 3: Attach to clip ends, needle nose pliers Step 4: Pull the needle-nose plier handles
Next, position each loop onto the tiny indentions around the snap ring. As shown, slide the needle nose pliers into the loop.   With the needle nose pliers in place, pull on the handles outward to begin pulling on the metal loop. The snap ring should pull apart. Note that the snap ring is un-usuable after this point. Instead, you will install the new shaft using the provided e-clip.

    1. Good product, but not quick-release at all

The shaft is fine - its sturdy, fits well, etc. It's a bit skinnier than the default one so the dustwasher isnt very tight on it, but otherwise feels fine. Changing the length with the washers is fine too.

But it is *not* a quick release shaft, while you can screw it on and off without removing the bottom end, you still access to hold the bottom end in place - theres no way to keep the bottom half from spinning when you screw/unscrew the ball top end.

So I'd only buy this if you want the adjustable length, get a Phreakmods Link or something if you need quick release. If I have to take my stick apart just to take the lever out it just defeats the purpose IMO.
