The 2lb tension spring for Sanwa JLF replaces the existing spring found in the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick, or Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, adding 1.1lb more force than the original. This results in a stiffer joystick, which is favored amongst some players who don't like the loose feel of the JLF. Using this spring, you no longer have to combine the original with a LS-32 to achieve the same level of tension.
Now you can save 35 cents on the 2lb JLF spring when you bundle it with the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick, Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK Joystick (No Plate Installed) or FA Nippon ALU battops. Just choose "Add 2lb JLF Tension Spring" from listing options.
I love this 2lb tension coil! I love the resistance compare to stock! I just got a aluminum battop to see how it feels against this coil. A must for people who lights a more tension gameplay! KetoPower on Apr 7th 2016
For those wondering, this 2lb tension spring also works just fine on the Hori Hayabusa and the Hayabusa Silent. The higher tension reminds of the days when I was learning to play in an arcade with more rigid sticks; feels like I'm home again. Sevans on Mar 23rd 2016
I know that the tension of an Arcade Stick is a subjective matter, but when you feel the difference that the 2lb spring makes over the stock spring in a Sanwa JLF, it will change your life. You'll forever wonder how you made due with such a loose stick in the past. Argnoth on Mar 21st 2016
After purchasing my RAP4 Kai and using a few weeks, the joystick felt kinda "soft". Installing the 2lb spring, along with the Kowal Oversized Actuator, made my stick feel more similar to an actual arcade quality (what I'm used to). Certainly worth it. GeoGeo on Feb 25th 2016
The stiffness of an arcade controller is obviously a subjective case, but I really like my JLF to be a bit stiffer than the original feel.
This spring did exactly this. It offered me the feeling I was looking for, so that's why I recommend it. Ideal for shooters! Unknown on Jan 30th 2016
I like my joystick to be stiffer and this 2 lb spring is perfect for my likings. I highly recommend it. Also compatible with Hayabusa joysticks. Ömer on Dec 21st 2015
I installed this with the Kowal 1mm Oversize Actuator for Sanwa JLF in my Madcatz SFxT Pro. The result is much firmer response and return to neutral. This has helped my dash motions quite ab it and to me it just feels better.
It may not be for everyone, but if you think you might prefer a stiffer stick; give this a shot, it's cheap enough where if you dont like it, it wont break the piggy. ToneLoki on Dec 7th 2015
I've always thought the stock JLF spring was way too loose. I've tried a myriad of ways to fix the issue (stretch the spring, combine it with a seimitsu spring, etc) and I've never found a great solution until this bad boy was referred to me. So much tighter. Tempted to go up to 3lb tension next but for now I'm happy. epistaxis on Nov 3rd 2015
This, in conjunction with a slightly larger actuator, creates a world of difference in terms of responsiveness. It creates a tight and precise feel that is ideal for most fighting games. Inputs will require more deliberate actions however, and I would recommend this product to individuals who are either A) looking for a tighter overall feel or B) having execution problems related to inputs which require the stick to remain in a neutral state for a brief moments of time (i.e. Ryu's dragon punch FADC ultra; As the stick will return to a neutral state quicker and with less "wobble"). After years of playing with a stick spring or a stretched out spring I finally bought this. It's made a small improvement to my playing but overall it's made me focus a lot more to my position. I highly recommend it. Efraim on Oct 13th 2015
