    Product Discontinued 4/28/2024

Sanwa is discontinuing the GTYR8 gate; inventory here will remain until sold out. You can now alternatively purchase the Sanwa GT-8X Square Restrictor Gate and Sanwa GTN-Y Octagonal Restrictor Gate Insert.

Quarter-circle, half-circle and full 360 motions no longer take effort or feel unnatural after installing a Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Gate into your TE or Hori/Sanwa JLF setup.  A full 8 corners allows for smoother and more responsive motions for fireball, dragon-uppercut and spinning piledriver attacks.  Those investing their time in wrestling chars such as Zangief or Shoto chars such as Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Akuma, and Dan(!), deserve to swap out their existing 4-way gate for this one.

The Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Gate is compatible with the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick and Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK Joystick (No Plate Installed).

    1. Good 4 sv and mk games

This is a must buy product for sv and mk fans on Dec 28th 2016

    2. Sanwa Denshi

This sanwa GT-YR8 octagonal restrictor gate is all you need to improve your game play on street fighter 5 and is of good quality and design on Dec 15th 2016

    3. Works Well

Very quick and simple mod to help get more of a feel of where your at while your playing since the default gate just kind of goes around in a circle so you can't feel the corners. This one you can feel when you get to a certain point if your having to reverse directions during a combo. on Nov 29th 2016

    4. Great product does what you need for cheap

I mean it's not like it's super costly to make but just getting the job done is enough for this price. You can definitely feel those corners now on Nov 4th 2016

    5. Quality parts

Amazing quality parts for great price on Oct 29th 2016

    6. The standard

Very helpful in my SFV and KOF play. Easy to install and gives a satisfying adjustment on Sep 21st 2016

    7. 8 ways to success

I've never been one to mod. I've never understand the need to adjust something that an organization (Mad Catz -- TE2 Chun-Li) should have already taken into consideration. Mostly, I was frightened opening something up, seeing the plethora of wires, buttons and do-hickeys, that I felt I was never given the proper bomb-squad training procedures to handle this mess. I never bothered. Also, why bother?

      Boy, was I wrong.

Focus Attack made it insanely easy to know what product I needed to buy, and once i received the package (wrapped in PA newspaper -- hilarious), the installation took _literally_ seconds, and it made a significant change to my gameplay.

Not only was this dead simple to install, but it 1) came on time (1 day early, actually), 2) pristine condition, 3) and mounds of information documentation on the site that let me quickly and easy install it.

Would highly recommend this 8way gate if people do not like the default square-gate inside their fightsticks. df/uf/f/d, etc feels like they're locked into place.

    8. First time review

Does what its made to do. Came in a nice plastic baggy, and in a timely manner on Jul 20th 2016

    9. Better playability

This gate is very helpful with certian fighting games and great for the shoot 'em up ups. on May 5th 2016

    10. Game Changer

Excellent product. Fits my Sanwa sticks perfectly. It's incredibly easy to install.

I tried square gates but inevitably make input errors when tiring to do fireball motions in intense situations. I'm comfortable with the octagon gate, and find my game more consistent with it.
