Sanwa is an undisputed leader in the Japanese arcade market, but that doesn't mean the company isn't inspired by community-born modifications to their celebrated joystick levers. Today, the company asks you to do just that - mod to your heart's content - with a selection of color-coded performance enhancers.
Sanwa GTN-VI Round Restrictor Gate Insert is designed for the Sanwa GT-8X Square Restrictor Gate and provides smooth 360-degree lever movement.
This part will fit the following models
Sanwa's original restrictor plate - the GT-8F 4/8-Way Restrictor Plate - is not compatible with the newer GTN-VI, GTN-Y, GTN-B and GTN-R inserts.
For those who would like to replace their original guide on the Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8BYT-SK Higher Tension Silent Microswitch Joystick, the contact of the lead switch may shift due to the impact when the guide plate is attached, and it may not operate normally. You may want to avoid the guide tips part of the mod for that model.
The JL-C-ALL kit and associated parts was designed for authentic Sanwa JLF models. We're unable to speak for all Sanwa JLF clones on the market, or "knock-off" models that are pre-built into lower-cost Fightsticks, nor cheaper Zippy models.
Guide Tips are inserts for the Sanwa GT-8F 4/8-Way Restrictor Plate that comes with your JLF. Each guide is color-coded and designed to provide a unique enhancement to lever travel, from the tried-and-true octagonal control of the yellow GTN-Y to the hybrid rounded square of the GTN-B.
From FA:
The part is designed to facilitate circular motion. As a result, it is not designed to facilitate corners. If you need to find corners more easily during gameplay, consider GTN Mod Type I, or Type II.
When you try and hit a corner input you have to either push/pull real hard into it or find the 1/100in sweet spot. A lot of missed inputs but feels great kevin on Jan 3rd 2024
