Sanwa JLF Red Spring (2, 2 Tension Load)

Sanwa is an undisputed leader in the Japanese arcade market, but that doesn't mean the company isn't inspired by community-born modifications to their celebrated joystick levers.  Today, the company asks you to do just that - mod to your heart's content - with a selection of color-coded performance enhancers.

Spring Mod

Each spring modification is designed to adjust tension load in two areas: the beginning of the lever tilt, and end of the tilt. Notice that all but the red spring increases tension up as you finish movement towards the cardinal direction.  

This spring has a 2 "Starting Tension" load and 2 "Ending Tension" load.

Important Notes

Guide Tips Not compatible with Sanwa GT-8F square gate

Sanwa's original restrictor plate - the GT-8F 4/8-Way Restrictor Plate - is not compatible with the newer GTN-VI, GTN-Y, GTN-B and GTN-R inserts.

TPRG Silent Joystick and GT-8X, Guide Tips

For those who would like to replace their original guide on the Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8BYT-SK Higher Tension Silent Microswitch Joystick, the contact of the lead switch may shift due to the impact when the guide plate is attached, and it may not operate normally. You may want to avoid the guide tips part of the mod for that model.
