For many years before the newer and technically upgraded SANWA JLX-TP-8YT Joystick, Sanwa's premiere joystick was considered the de-facto standard in most Japanese arcade setups, and widely adopted in most commercial joysticks.  Works with a wide array of Sanwa balltops, battops and Seimitsu balltops, including the Seimitsu LB-39 Bubbletop, Sanwa LB-35 Balltop, and Sanwa LB-30 N-S Battop.

The Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick comes fully assembled with Sanwa TP-MA PCB Assembly, JLF-P1 Mounting Plate, and dual dustwashers.

    1. Top notch quality

This is my 4th time buying from focus attack and the process and shipping never disappoints. I initially bought a korean lever and it was excellent but wanted to try something different. I bought this along with the Kowal 1mm actuator for fast engaging and the 4lb spring. Oh boy this will be my go to till the end of times. I play MK1 and the diagonals are perfect. I use the square restrictor for this game and this is all I need. on Jul 9th 2024

    2. A classic and personal favorite!

I use the sanwa jlf with a 4lb. spring in all my cabs and arcade sticks. It can handle those intense gaming sessions and swapping parts is very simple. on Dec 18th 2022

    3. Good on it's Own; Fantastic with JL-C-ALL

Can you feel the difference in reaction time between this another stick like the Qanba Drone's? I feel like that depends on your skill level. I don't have nearly enough experience to tell the difference in reaction time and the such. However, the microswitches do feel more snappy and precise, if that makes any sense.

The true beauty of this, however, comes from how easily it can be modded. For that reason, I HEAVILY recommend getting the JL-C-ALL Kit. While the stock spring and actuator do feel very good (far better than Qanba's), having the kit let's you customize it so you can find exactly what spring, actuator, and gate work for you. So far, I've kept almost everything but I swapped the gate out for octagonal, and my execution is already much better.

    4. Fantastic replacement

Replaced the Qanba drone lever with this and and used an octagonal gate. Perfect replacement and works great. Feels better than the one that came with the original stick. Recommended. on Jun 9th 2022

    5. Go for it.

Best bang for the buck Joystick out there. Installed a round round gate on mine and I'm good to go. on Mar 26th 2022

    6. The Perfect Joystick For Hyper Fighting

Wow! What a great little joystick this thing is. I'm so happy that I bought this now. After much stuffing around, here I'm finally able to properly execute my dragon fist uppercuts when playing Ken via Hyper Fight. This Sanwa joystick along with a short shaft, LB-35 Balltop, Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Gate, Kowal 1mm Oversize Actuator, and JLF 3 lbf custom spring from the Paradise Arcade Shop, has now become my perfect setup. Because I really enjoyed modifying my joystick to feel this way, I'm now curious what more I could do to upgrade it. Once new stock becomes available, I most definitely gonna be buying an Otto DIY V2 and V5 Kit and Bit Bang Gaming Shuriken JLF PCB along with all the Omron switches. A Buttercade Sanwa JLF Stainless Steel Pivot along with a more grippy balltop such as the KINU Silky Touch Rubber Coated Balltop may be nice too come my next order. Yep! :-) on Feb 25th 2022

    7. Thank you FocusAttack!

First time ordering, and couldn't be more pleased with not only the product but the overall quality of service. Many thanks and cheers FocusAttack! on Feb 12th 2022

    8. Great

Well made on May 29th 2021

    9. I love this joystick!

Feels great, responsive, and very easy to install.

This stick is so perfect that I don't even think replacing the stock parts with new springs, gates or actuators is even necessary. But that is personal preference.

This JLF joystick combined with my SANWA buttons makes a fantastic combination.

    10. Fantastic lever

I’ll start by admitting that I don’t have much experience in trying out different levers. I’ve only used sanwa joysticks in other sticks before and so far they’ve served me well. And this one is no exception, works great, and I’m glad I went with it for my first self built fight stick. Package came quick and in good condition. Will definitely come back to focus attack for any future parts I’ll need. I even got a few extra dust washers for some reason, not that I’m complaining. on Mar 1st 2021

I mounted these all to the same panel to do some comparison testing. I also slow down time to show you how they return to neutral and in some cases actuate the opposite direction.
