  • Product Description

Before Seimitsu introduced the LS-58 series of translucent color joysticks, there was the solidly-built LS-56.  This joystick is noticably smaller than the LS-32 or LS-40, enabling it to fit inside smaller joystick configurations, such as a Madcatz TE.  The stiffer spring makes it excellent for those who prefer it to the softer looser spring in a Sanwa JLF, or LS-58.

The LS-56 has the following characteristics according to slagcoin:

    • Medium throw distance
    • Medium engage distance
    • Has a heavy tension spring in comparison to Sanwa JLF
    • Comes with square gate by default but can be fitted with an octagonal gate.
    • High neutral and engage precision.

Compatble with Seimtsu LB-35 balltops, LB-39 bubbletops, color shaft and dustwasher sets

You can find plenty of color customization options for the LS-56.  Now available are Seimitsu solid and translucent color shaft and dustwasher sets, plus solid color LB-35 bubbletops, and translucent LB-39 bubbletops.  Use these to swap the default black up to 7 solid color and 10 translucent colors accessories.

    Bundle with LS-56 octogonal gate!

The Seimitsu LS 56 Octagonal Restrictor Plate is compatible with the LS-58, allowing you to get smooth 8-way movement similar to the Sanwa GTY.

Flat MS Plate installed. VF, P=40 Flat and SS Plates Available

The Seimitsu LS-56-01 joystick comes with a flat MS plate, which can install on MadCatz TE.  We also carry the Seimitsu VF Plate, which is often used in Hori joystick configurations, plus the flat and SS P=40 plate.  The P=40 is considered one of Seimitsu's most versatile plates.  The P-40 plate mounts on practically any "universal" mounting spot (HRAP 3 SA/SE or HRAP V3/VX SA) as well as seemingly "JLF-only" HRAP 3's and licensed HRAP's like the Arcana Heart 2 joystick (Thanks to SRK's GeorgeC for the explanation).

LS-56-01 says "LS-33" on PCB, but is not LS-33. (more info)

    1. The best for shooters!

I play (and even make) arcade shooting games. When you need a tight feel with a short throw, for these precise arcade games, this is pretty much the best. I put an OEM Seimitsu octagonal gate on all of mine as well, for even better control.

Want more fun? Try this tip! While I love the black shaft cover, to get more of a traditional metal shaft look, try updating your stick with the translucent smoke shaft cover. Keep the black dust washer, use the smoke shaft cover, and add a balltop color of your desire. It will look awesome - on some angles of light, it will look a bit more metallic, but others it will just look dark & menacing. Great stick, must buy!

    2. WORTH IT!

This is a very versatile stick. If you're looking for a lever that's great for shooters, high execution fighters (especially 90s SNK fighters), and advanced movements in Tekken, then look no further. While it takes some getting used to it, you'll soon come to appreciate it. The tightness of the lever along with the shorter throw can improve your execution, provided if you prefer tighter sticks. And oddly enough, if it wasn't for the spring, the LS 56 feels very similar to Korean sticks like the Crown 309MJ and Myoungshin Fanta in firmness. Overall, I recommend buying it. I installed this in the Qanba Dragon. The firmness accommodates the weight of the Dragon very well. on Aug 4th 2020

    3. Very snappy, love it

Was looking for something a little different from the usual and the super quick, easy movement of this stick is fantastic. Takes some getting used to, I tend to press too hard on some inputs when I don't have to. Cool and good on Jan 27th 2020

    4. A big improvement

I have used Suzo Happ and X-Gaming joysticks previously. Though these were satisfactory, switching to Seimitsu made a big improvement. This joystick is faster, and much more responsive. I am much more aware of the direction I press. I would gladly buy a Seimitsu joystick again. on Jul 2nd 2019

    5. A better JLF

First of all I just want to start off with a thank you to the team at Focus attack. I was looking for a stick that was a little stiffer, a slightly shorter throw, more accurate inputs, and was compatible with my Razer atrox. I had little to no idea where to even start, because there is a bit of a learning curve to the differences. I message Focusattack with what I was looking for and the very next day they responded with this stick. It has been perfect. This is compatible with any sanwa jlf housing and it has a direct disconnect wire harness.
I highly recommend this stick to anyone who wants a Tighter and better feeling JLF. And super kudos to focus stack who has repeatedly just been the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life.

    6. Tight and responsive, very good for arcade and action games.

I was skeptical of dropping cash on a Seimitsu stick, especially since shipping to my country is pretty expensive, but after one session with this new stick I'm a convert.

I fitted it into my PS3 Hori RAP V3.SA and matched it with a 45mm balltop. I mainly play shmups and arcade games, and after a few runs of Fire Shark, OutZone and Truxton 2 I could feel the difference. The shorter travel helped inputs come out faster, and the increased resistance helps me keep fine control under pressure.

Really impressed with this after years of using Sanwa JLFs. Highly recommended.

    7. Be Deliberate!

I had a slightly bad habbit of making inputs that were probably correct and hoping for the best. You can't do that with this stick, you have to be accurate. Sounds bad, but it's good to get out of the bad habbit. When I hit confirm>special>critical art in SFV I now execute %100 of the time instead of %90, which is a big %10 jump. The stick is tight, the throw is short, and it snaps back to center quickly. I have this, a hyabusa, and a Sanwa. They're all great but I'd say this is my numer 2 behind the hyabusa (to be fair I haven't modded the JLF yet and I hate square gates so it might move up my list). If you can, try all three, but it's really a feel thing more than one is better that the other. If you don't want to worry about modding I'd say this is the definitive hairtrigger stick of the ones I've used. on Mar 2nd 2018

    8. Best stick for Shmups.

This is better than Sanwa when it comes to Shmups.(Shoot em ups) on Jan 31st 2018

    9. Perfect replacement for the SEGA Virtua Stick (HSS-0136)

I wanted to replace the garbage ascii joystick that came with my japanese virtua stick and the ls56 was the perfect replacement. Now i can enjoy my mame games, demul etc much better. on Aug 27th 2017

    10. For my first stick upgrade

I love this Stick, it helps you really earn your combos. The tension of the spring is great for returning to neutral! Definitely happy with my purchase. Back dashing with this in tekken is a challenge but i'm sure it will be rewarding once I get used to it. on Aug 26th 2017
