The Crazy Dongpal Pro lever is a highly coveted variation featuring several enhancements over the original Dongpal CWL-303-MJ-DX Lever. 

Who is Crazydongpal?

Dongseop Lee aka Crazydongpal is a notable Korean Tekken player known for his long-string, incredibly damaging combos.  His command of Mishima family characters sets him far apart in the Tekken scene.  He is also known for modding his own Korean levers, with tweaks to existing bodies such as the 303 to suit his playstyle. Samducksa sought his consultation to build the Crazy Dongpal Pro lever.

Slimmer Build for Fightsticks. 5-Pin PCB. Enhancements and Differences from the 303-MJ-DX

The Crazy Dongpal Pro is upgraded with a reduced input radius for faster input and improved response speed. Additionally, 5-pin PCB and its lower profile body is designed to fit and function in most Japanese Fightstick builds, including the Hori Alpha.

• Bolt Retaining Shaft. Hollow shaft accepts a screw and washers to stay compleletly secure. The shaft is not compatible with other Crown products.

Light Tension Silicone Grommet. Gersung GSM-V1603A3DP Microswitches

The lighter tension ST-25 offers a similar feel to the default Sanwa JLF spring - about .5lb force tension. This differs from the slightly higher ST-35 tension of the original Dongpal lever. Complimenting the grommet are 4 Gersung GSM-V1603A3DP Wide Hinge Microswitches.

What is a Wide Hinge Lever?

A wide hinge lever - in the context of microswitches - is a broad-shaped actuator arm that is designed for enhanced stability and sensitivity. It offeres a more stable or heavier-duty activation compared to standard, narrow straight levers. This type of actuator is often found in arcade applications where consistent, low-force triggering is required, where a larger surface area to ensure contact.

Notes for New Korean Stick Players

If you are coming from a Sanwa JLF or other Japanese style lever, some worthwhile notes to keep in mind

Round Type: No Gates

With exception to the Crown/Samducksa Shinsun 2D/3D Game Joystick Lever, Korean sticks typically do not possess any restrictor gate. Instead it moves freely in a circular fashion. There are no restrictor gates that are compatible with this lever.

Tension via Rubber Grommet, Not Metal Spring

Additionally, there is no tension spring. Instead most Korean levers use a rubber grommet placed in the housing.  This surrounds the shaft, and a plastic or delrin bobbin keeps shaft in place. A rubber grommet that is specific to the intended tension of that model is already installed in your lever. Separately, other rubber grommets are available in multiple tensions for your gaming preferences.
