  1. The best of Kailh's low profile offerings?

Functionally the Purple Glede's are similar to Kailh's Shadow Hunting and Saker Mini switches. Same engage (0.8mm), comparable throw distance (1.8mm). Where these pull ahead though is in what the muting mechanism does to the 'feel' of the press. If you're running a Haute product, buttons tend to have a very harsh bottom-out. It feels like you're pressing a piece of plastic, attached directly to a switch, attached directly to a PCB, because, well, that's what it is. But the o-rings in these guys not only give your press a more pleasant thud rather than loud clack, but the physical feedback of the press is less blunt, and doesn't feel as--for lack of a better word--"cheap." The body of the switches is a dark translucent, so the degree of LED pass-through is almost identical to Shadow Hunting. I highly recommend these, even if you're already currently rocking a comparable Kailh alternative. Kevin K. on Mar 1st 2026
