The 2lb tension spring for Sanwa JLF replaces the existing spring found in the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick, or Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, adding 1.1lb more force than the original. This results in a stiffer joystick, which is favored amongst some players who don't like the loose feel of the JLF. Using this spring, you no longer have to combine the original with a LS-32 to achieve the same level of tension.

Save when bundled with Sanwa JLF, FA Nippon ALU products

Now you can save 35 cents on the 2lb JLF spring when you bundle it with the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT JoystickSanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK Joystick (No Plate Installed) or FA Nippon ALU battops.  Just choose "Add 2lb JLF Tension Spring" from listing options.

    1. Great for Tekken

After years of playing on my TE2 I finally switched out the stock spring for this 2lb replacement. I mostly play Tekken now and difference is very noticeable. There doesn't seem to be a drag on certain inputs and moves that require neutral position come out more consistently. Highly recommend if you feel your stick is too loose. It feels a little too tight at first but after a week it feels pretty natural. I even ordered a 2nd one for my other stick. on Oct 11th 2019

    2. Works fine

Bought this for my Razer Panthera. Was having issues with the stick not returning to neutral as quickly as I would like. Installation was easy (can't speak to other sticks though) and made quick stick returns to neutral much more consistent for me.

Note that it does take a little bit of getting used to and is a little more tiring on the hand than a lighter spring, but that's to be expected and well worth it in my opinion.

    3. Mandatory mod for Hyabusa users

Spring doesn't add much if any noticeable tension increase while nullifying the issue of accidental inputs by releasing to neutral with the stock Hyabusa spring. on Aug 2nd 2019

    4. Pretty Good

While I prefer a 4lb spring, this is good for people who only want a little more tension than their stock spring. This is a good middle ground for springs, if you want a tighter Sanwa, or a “loose Happ” feel. on Jul 30th 2019

    5. Great if you don’t like looseness of the stock spring

I was fine with the stock spring for the first few weeks of using my panthera, but over time, it didn’t feel like it was returning to neutral fast enough.
I was practicing Korean back dashes in Tekken, and I heard that a stiffer spring returns to neutral faster (which is beneficial for Tekken) so I went with this one. Oh man can you feel the difference! (I can’t imagine what the 4lb feels like!) This could be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for. Just know that it definitely provides a faster return to neutral. The stock spring feels like a feather in comparison.
Overall, I recommend this spring to anyone looking for more stiffness in their arcade stick. It just takes a little bit of time to adjust to. It only took about a week for me to adjust to it. It has now been 2 months as of the time of this writing, so I’m much more used to it now.

    6. Perfect upgrade

This spring adds the perfect amount of tension to the JLF, would recommend to anyone looking for a little more resistance over the stock spring. on Jul 17th 2019

    7. Large Difference in Stiffness from Stock JLF Spring

The spring itself was fine, but I found that the stiffness from the 2lbs was too much. I don't recommend you replace the spring if you mainly play 2D fighting games like UNIST, Blazblue, etc.... that require a lot of fast motions because your hand will easily get tired after playing for a while. However, I do recommend it for games like Tekken that require you to go to neutral fast. on Jul 15th 2019

    8. Slightly too stiff and squeaks.

I really wish there was an in-between option between the stock 0.9lb spring and this one. something like a 1.5. I can tell a HUUUGE difference, but the stock spring is too soft, this one is just a bit too stiff.

Also, and maybe I just need to break it in a bit more, but it squeaks now. My stick never did that before. What's more is that it only squeaks when I hit a certain direction. Maybe I also need to open it up and make sure everything was re-installed correctly... but it's quite annoying.

Overall though, still massively preferable to the stock spring.

    9. Perfect

Gave my arcade stick just what it needed. on Jun 20th 2019

    10. sturdy handle

If you dont like the original light spring and wants a more sturdy and heavy feel of the joystick lever this 2lb tension spring for sanwa is your best choice. on May 28th 2019
