The 2lb tension spring for Sanwa JLF replaces the existing spring found in the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick, or Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, adding 1.1lb more force than the original. This results in a stiffer joystick, which is favored amongst some players who don't like the loose feel of the JLF. Using this spring, you no longer have to combine the original with a LS-32 to achieve the same level of tension.
Now you can save 35 cents on the 2lb JLF spring when you bundle it with the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick, Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK Joystick (No Plate Installed) or FA Nippon ALU battops. Just choose "Add 2lb JLF Tension Spring" from listing options.
I really wish there was an in-between option between the stock 0.9lb spring and this one. something like a 1.5. I can tell a HUUUGE difference, but the stock spring is too soft, this one is just a bit too stiff.
Also, and maybe I just need to break it in a bit more, but it squeaks now. My stick never did that before. What's more is that it only squeaks when I hit a certain direction. Maybe I also need to open it up and make sure everything was re-installed correctly... but it's quite annoying.
Overall though, still massively preferable to the stock spring. Andrew on Jun 27th 2019
Gave my arcade stick just what it needed. Jay on Jun 20th 2019
If you dont like the original light spring and wants a more sturdy and heavy feel of the joystick lever this 2lb tension spring for sanwa is your best choice. Unknown on May 28th 2019
Went from stock to 4 pound spring which was WAY too stiff then the two pound which is absolutely perfect. Steven on May 17th 2019
When I bought the removable JLF I got a free 2lb lever spring and decided to try it in my drone (my test stick basically). Turns out I liked it so much I bought another and put it in my Obsidian!
Levers are usually very light to the touch and while easy to use I feel way more comfortable comfortable having that slight bit more pull on my stick (especially in games like tekken where going back to neutral can be a necessity)
Id say the 4lb spring is super tense and highly unnecessary, but the 2lb feels very natural to the limp spring that comes standard. Austin on May 6th 2019
I bought this and a 4lb spring both installed easy both needed a bit of breaking in. Exactly what you would want out of a new spring @fightsticksmash on Apr 29th 2019
After being broken in a bit, this spring greatly increases the return to neutral speed and has only a marginal increase in effort for directional inputs. Tightening up the very loose basic hayabusa spring yields a much improved joystick feeling. Unknown on Mar 19th 2019
Feels like I have better control- not loosey goosey Unknown on Dec 12th 2018
The original spring made my Sanwa JLF feel too loose, with this spring my stick feels just right. Would highly recommend if you are not a fan of loose feeling sticks. TekToro on Nov 28th 2018
Easy install. Helped tighten up my movement. Unknown on Nov 2nd 2018
