The 4lb tension spring for Sanwa JLF replaces the existing spring found in the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick, or Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, now adding 3.2lb more force than the original. This model is designed towards those looking for an incredibly high-tension feel, which is favored amongst some players who don't like the loose feel of the JLF.
Now you can save 35 cents on the 4lb JLF spring when you bundle it with the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick, Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick, Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK Joystick (No Plate Installed) or FA Nippon ALU battops. Just choose "Add 4lb JLF Tension Spring" from listing options.
hard feel, worked with hori rap4 hayabusa fixed the loose feel great for guys who like to force feel the movement.... workout but very solid inputs thegodofgreen on Jan 15th 2017
I changed to the 2 lbs spring and liked it but thought I would appreciate a bit stiffer spring.
Tried this 4 lbs and wow is it way way too much for me. It felt so stiff I'm really surprised there are so many reviewers here saying they play wth it. Lance Davis on Jan 4th 2017
I really like the 4lb spring. Stock spring is a little lose for me, 6lb too stiff. This is in my Goldylocks zone ! Jim on Sep 2nd 2016
This is a great quality spring. it was far too stiff for me to use effectively though. The 2lb spring was a much more manageable increase in stiffness Patrick Skelly on Aug 29th 2016
So I have played with all springs except this one. I tend to really crank my stick when I play so I upgraded to a 2lb spring. It upped my game. So when that stick was wearing down I decided to test this 4lb out. It was what i was looking for when i got the 2lb!
It makes things so tight so you if you use the extra strength it doesn't hinder you!
5/5 very satisfied. Matt on Aug 3rd 2016
I wasn't a fan of the stock 1 lb spring i my stick. I played with a friends' 2 lb spring stick, but it didn't feel responsive enough. I wasn't sure if I really wanted this stiff of a spring and at first it felt too stiff. But after a couple of sets, it felt great. Unknown on Aug 3rd 2016
I have giant meaty hands. I can palm a basketball they are so big. That said, when I play on my Madcatz TE, my hands are so big I knock the whole joystick around just rolling fireballs. When your joystick is at bad angle, you tend to eat combos or do things you don't want to do.
After replacing the default spring with this one, I discovered the spring absorbed most of the force from my hands, resulting in my joystick not moving around as much. As a result, the execution of everything from fireballs to complex combos has gone through the roof for me. I win more.
I highly recommend this to anybody who deals with the same issue I dealt with. Be warned, you will get fatigued a bit quicker due to the resistance. thisRalf on Jun 3rd 2016
I have a Hayabusa joystick, and with that I went from a 0.98 lb spring, to a 2 lb spring, to finally this 4 lb spring. It definitely feels like an American and Korean joystick now, and also helps immensely with speedy directional inputs, most notably SPD's and DP's. Its a great alternative to both Korean joysticks and especially American joysticks. Gil E. on May 26th 2016
I was considering replacing an old stick when I started to have trouble hitting reaction DPs. Decided to try this option first to remove my deadzone. Worked, no longer having trouble with DPs and the high tension makes for less input error. Unknown on May 12th 2016
I've always had issues with the stock spring in sanwas feeling too light so I decided to try a heavier spring. I thought 4lbs might be too much but for the price I decided it was worth a try just to know. I am extremely pleased with this spring after having my hands on it for about 2 weeks now and will be using it in all future sticks. It takes a little getting used to, especially if you're coming from the standard sanwa spring (I think it's 0.98lb?) After that, it's butter.
Your mileage may vary, but aside from the stick feeling better I also find certain inputs easier with a tighter spring. 2149 and 2363214 inputs namely especially feel better. I come from a Street Fighter/King of Fighters background so take that for what you will. I do play anime games more casually and I loved the spring just as much there. Unknown on Apr 26th 2016
