The Sanwa GT-8F Restrictor plate comes standard in the Sanwa JLF series sticks, and can be adjusted for 4 or 8 way operation by switching the insert. This is a great replacement for a broken or worn gate. You can also use it with JLF GT-O Circle Restrictor Plate Insert for smooth circular motions movement or JLF GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate Insert for precise 8-way directional control in case you'e building a custom joystick.
The Sanwa GT-8F Octagonal Restrictor Gate is compatible with the Sanwa JLF joystick series.
Easy to switch from 4 way to 8 way. Just pop it off the bottom of the joystick turn the square plate into a "diamond" plate for 4 way... Unknown on Oct 10th 2019
Excellent for fighting games is respond fast take back to defense. Unknown on Jun 6th 2019
Does exactly what it advertises to. I put it in a 8bitdo N30 arcade stick to get a 4-way only stick for classic NES games, and it works great. Chris on Dec 4th 2018
Arrived before I knew it and the gate installed really easily. Great product Unknown on Oct 17th 2017
Fit perfectly on the stock joystick on the mayflash f300. I play games like pacman so I set it to the 4 way position. I could easily swap it for the 8 way direction if i ever wanted to Andrew on Jul 4th 2017
Thought I'd try square gate for a while. Installed super easy. I'll try a circle gate next. Will always do business with FA if possible. TJ Thayer on Oct 26th 2016
This gate can be switched between Square gate or Octagonal without having two seperate gates. It's a game changer. I would suggest buying 2 or more though Xavier Perry on Sep 5th 2016
There was some dirt when I received it. I had to use some alcohol run to get the grime off. Unknown on Sep 22nd 2015
This review will be short for a good reason. Standard Sanwa restrictor plate which in default mode is eight way box shape plate. For those who are buying Sanwa sticks to play Tetris Grand Master series correctly (or any puzzle 4-way joystick game), you will need to change the inner plate into a four-way diamond shape. Downside is that it is kind-of a pain in the butt to do it. Too much pressure or move the inner circle gate the wrong way can break off one of the tabs that hold the inner gate together. Highly recommend to just keep the plate a four-way once you change it and also buy two of these for just in case you break one of them by mistake. The price is very right to get more than one.
Not the best design but it gets the job done. Seimitsu has a much better design when it comes to their Restrictor Plates than Sanwas (screws for changing). Uri Cohen (Hyperduel) on Sep 12th 2015
