The Seimitsu LS-32 joystick shaft extender increases the overall height of this model's shaft by 16mm. The added height allows for installation into wooden cabinets, or extra leverage for those who prefer a taller joystick to work with. Below is an example of the height difference with the shaft extender.
Surprisingly, we found that the shaft extender will connect to the Standard Length Balltop Shaft for IL Eurostick (34mm) and Extended Length Balltop Shaft for IL Eurostick (45mm). The threading and shaft diameter are the same, and the balltop/battop threading on the IL shaft will also work with Sanwa and Seimitsu-compatible balltops and battops.
To install the extender, first remove the balltop on the existing shaft. Screw in the extender onto the existing shaft's threaded base, then reattach the balltop.
The Seimitsu shaft extender works only on Seimitsu LS-32 .187" Fastener Joystick with RE Plate, and Seimitsu LS-32-01 Joystick. It will not work with Seimitsu LS-32-01-SC Joystick as the extended shaft is too long for the shaft cover.

Wasn't sure if these were going to work out on my ls-40 joysticks but they fit and I'm pretty happy with them. Visually it's pretty easy to see them since they have a metal finish and the original shaft has a black plastic coating. I bought some shaft covers and was going to try to fit them over these extenders to give it a more uniform look but I couldn't get the covers to fit over the extenders. They feel fine though and I'm happy with them since I would rather not route a hole in the bottom of my control panel. Unknown on Nov 9th 2019
In all seriousness, this is a great amount of extension. Fits on seamlessly, and you don't feel much of a gap at all between the shaft and the extension. Unknown on Jul 8th 2019
I recently made a built in fightstick table, but the joystick was too short. Luckily I found this shaft extender and made a huge difference. Well worth it. Unknown on Jul 31st 2017
Recently added Seimitsu style joysticks in an old Hanaho wood arcade stick housing. The length of the sticks protruding from the wood was short, similar to the Nintendo arcade style. Which is fine but I wanted something more traditional, so these screw on extensions worked perfectly. The only issue I am having is figuring out how to make them tight but not impossible to remove. Because while playing with the joysticks they sometimes come unscrewed in the same way the ball top becomes loose when playing. They are cheap enough so I bought extras for future projects.
